September 11, 2003

This is the second anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our great nation. I have thought long and hard about what this day means to me. How the events of the last two years have changed us all. I think about why we are at war, where it will lead, what has to change to make it better.

I remember most the tears of the days after 9/11, the heartache of families looking for the missing, the stories of the last phone calls, the unbelief that rocked a nation to the core of it’s faith. I remember the networks didn’t want to show the attacks anymore out of fear of inciting anger. For me it was not the attacks that summoned my emotions, it was seeing a young lady about 15 looking for her father. Watching her holding his picture, pleading for help finding him, and braking down in tears, that is the image I carry from that time. That is the moment I turn to, that is where the true pain of that day lies for me.

Today we are fighting a war that is essential to our survival. There is no choice, we must win. I fear we do not have the perseverance to see it through. It has been my experience that people of good will often find a way to compromise with those of ill will only to find themselves betrayed. The war we now fight will not end with the fall of any nation, it will not end with the fall of any person, it can only end with the fall of an ideal. It is now upon us to change the minds of those who wish us harm. Part of that is to raise the price of attacking us, part is to find the ones who wish us harm and stop them, and part is to stop the spread of the hate they teach. There are those who say we feed the hate, we choose sides, we are the one who must change what we do to appease those who would do us harm. I say they could not be more wrong… We have, as a nation, been more benevolent than most nations, we have, has a people, given more of ourselves than any other. We care, we seek fairness, we wish no ill on anyone. As a people and a nation we are a beacon to the world. Not perfect to be sure, but it is for perfection that we strive.

It comes to us to change the ideal that we are the ones who are to blame for the harm to people who’s leaders have not the foresight to see to the needs their people. We are not! We are a nation who’s heart weeps for the suffering of strangers. Those who encourage the hate of 9/11 don’t even weep for their children…(a bit harsh I know) We are most vulnerable because of our compassion. We seek out those in need and seek out ways to help we do this as individuals and as a nation.

We as a nation have changed little. We still have the same compassion, the same fears, the same goals. Only our focus has changed. The debates you see on TV every night proves the fight we wage to keep our soul has a nation. The need to balance the fight against terrorist and the preservation of freedom. The terrorist have no such soul searching to hold them back, they fight with no regard for the aftereffects, other than maximum death and destruction.

  • Our Strength is our regard for life, the light we share freely that will shine through in the end.
  • Our Hope lies in the opportunity that will come to the children of our enemies as the freedoms we hold dear come to them.
  • Our Victory will come when the lies of our enemy are exposed by the light of truth

In a little over a month I will be 41, officially middle aged. I have to ask... How did this happen? I started looking back at some of the things I have done and it's like that happened 10 years ago, this happened 20 years ago. I talk to people about things that happened before they were born... I can remember when we had black and white TV no such thing as cable not even a home computer. Even the internet was just a few school and government computers linked only by lines of text. I always thought I would see lots of things in my life, I just thought it would take longer. Another anniversary coming up is my 11th year of sobriety. To think that I have not had a drink in 11 years or that I have done anything for 11 years... only 1/4 of my life so far...

Some of the things that I liked best over the years.

  • The woman I have and still love.

  • Eating Ice Cream.

  • Having people asking me something and I know the answer :)

  • Helping strangers when I can

Some of the things I dislike the most

  • Missing the woman I have and still love

  • Eating Liver

  • Having people asking me something and I don't know the answer :(

  • People taking advantage of my generosity.

So It seems like only yesterday I was saying I would be making a new Mouse Drawn for you guys but I just never got around to it. Actually I was holding back for a better Ideal. Now I have it! Instead of doing animated Gif files, I'll just do little animated movies!!! Now that is much more fun anyway.  I'm not quite ready to go full out with it just yet, but I did make a short test film and thought I would go ahead and post it to see what you guys think of it. I just took a test film of my guy walking and one of him interacting with a prop to see how it would look then I used Windows Music Producer to make a simple sound track. (that's the best you can do with Music Producer) put them all together with some titles thrown in for effect and there it is all ready to go. I have a few ideals but I need more $$$ to buy more props and more guys and paint and stuff for my sets. I am however liking all the possibilities that just come to mind. Keep coming back to see what else I have done.

Yesterday (5/6/03) I went to watch the Homecoming of the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. In the last 9 months The Lincoln has fought in two wars, launched and recovered her planes thousands of time. handed millions of gallons of jet fuel thousands of bombs and missiles. All of these are very dangerous and all of these done with no losses of crew or planes.  The families were able to get on base the rest of us were able to wait on pier 1 (City owned dock) across the harbor from the Navy's pier A. The crowd was estimated at 12 to 15 thousand, not bad for a town of 90,000 or so. It was billed, along with the upcoming tickertape parade on Saturday, as the biggest event in Everett's History. Even bigger than the City centennial  just a few years ago. Everyone is very excited!!! I took pictures and posted them here for all to enjoy. so please have a look

The Lincoln Comes Home.

April 12, 2003 Hey today I decided to go to a anti-war protest just to see what they were like, I myself am very much in support of our troops and President but I had heard that there were lots of communist and socialist at these protest, so I wanted to see for myself . I do believe in free speech even if your dead wrong you have the right to say so. I had planed to be just an observer and I did very well in keeping my temper until when the march started down the street and I heard someone on a bull horn start up with "Hey Hey USA, how many kids did you kill today" As the mob began to join in I just lost it!!!! I moved to just behind the guy with the bull(sh__)horn and when he ask again how many kids did you kill today I jumped in and at the top of my voice yelled "NONE". That started a shouting match that lasted for about 2 minuets till the police stepped in and led me out of the crowd. The police were very supportive but of course I was asked to stay out of the group. My next step was to go back to my car and make a sign that said "Do Not Call My Uncle A Baby Killer" in honor of my Uncle Carl and my Great Uncle Andy Both of whom served with honor. Both have left us now but are not forgotten. I got ahead of the march and found a corner held my sign high and yelled at everybody who yelled at me.  OK enough about me I took pictures take a look :)

I  can not believe the MTV generation! I do watch music videos from time to time and one time I saw System Of A Down's video for they're song "Boom" this anti-war video produced by Michel Moore (Clinton's Hit Man) remember the puritans who went to Ken Stars house? Well I have joined the message board run by Sony music for the band and what I learned there was enlightening. Here are a few of the links they gave me to "prove" they're points in opposing  the war. You decide who are the people guided by Propaganda? Note: I can not say that theses sites are free of offensive material, some sites I know are not.

There are so many lies and half truths that I just lost my cool and gave up trying to talk to these little people If you had any doubt that the anti-war protesters are not thinking about the best interest of the USA just read the above links. Here are a few excerpts from my conversations under the topic "Protester = Communists"

TheSovietSicle : I hate those red neck hicks that don't know anything about the world, that call protesters communists. I mean first of all HOW ARE THEY COMMUNIST, BECAUSE THEY OPPOSE THEIR GOVERNMENT??? News flash in communist countries people don't oppose it. Second of all, if you ask ANY of those people to explain communism and why they think protesters are communist they'll just shit themselves and not know what to say. This is to whoever thinks the way those morons do, IF YOU'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED LIVING IN A PLACE OR YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SOMETHING DON'T JUDGE IT!!!!
-------------
war nipple : I guarantee every single one of those people who call protesters Communists have never read the "10 Planks of the Communist Manifesto" to begin with, let alone taken the time to look outside their window and see how many are actually pillars in their community. Most just know they word Communist is bad and anyone who disagrees with their government must be one. They can't be helped.

TheSovietSicle : I know. There is no more help for these people, they have been sucked into America's propaganda saying how Communism=evil. This government brainwashes the people who cant think for themselves in this country.

(in communist countries people don't oppose it)
G'Willie : Those that do  are dead or in jail. While I don't say all opposed to war are communist I have seen more than a few red flags with one star on it at many protest, and what is ANSWER all about anyway? Not to mention people here referring me directly to communist website as a source for there "facts"

BlazeCarson : The theory of communism is perfect, Marx was a smart man, people in the US think communism is bad because in the USSR and in China it was exploited and the government got rich while the people suffered... But then again this country is living proof that capitalism isn't perfect either... Marx even said capitalism is good for a while but it is unsustainable, because the gap between the haves and have not's will constantly become bigger and bigger... Propaganda taught the U.S. people that Communism was a terrible idea, in fact that fear is the one reason why we are the richest first world country but also the only first world country without universal health care... Which is kind of messed up if you think about it.... True communism this wouldn't happen... a kinder gentler idea is socialism.. not as scary to all those right wing wife beating rednecks out there .. but still bad.... All of this is why I'm going to move to Canada... At least their taxes go back to the people and aren't used to make people like Dubya rich on oil stolen from a people in the name of preserving peace.....

The Chemical Wedding : isn't Communism just a fancy word for sharing?

snakebyte_90 : saying that communism doesn't work shows you have never read Marx. First off there has never been a pure communist country! second, communism is a form of ECONOMY and a RELIGION not a form of government. Third the USSR was LENINIST and China was MAOIST both almost the opposite of communism. So, next time pick up the books written by the man who envisioned it and quit listening to text books and rich stiffs

TheSovietSicle : Your right it isn't evil, but it does work if you let it. The only reason the USSR collapsed was because the US was up their ass. If they let it function properly the Soviet Union would exist to this day.

G'Willie : Communism failed every time it has been tried because it fails at one point that it holds key... Ending greed... You can not make all things equal in any society when you end money as the motivator you leave power as the currency of greed... And power is harder to distribute than money... Communism = failed Ideals, Failed system, failed lives... May Marks name be a cursed for all time for the lives destroyed by his words.

Here a more Leftwing lies

ME: I had a good laugh reading you propaganda.
lets start with this little tidbit bit
ANTIWAR: "They all are (Oil companies) American and 5 out of seven belong to the US gov!!!"
ME: Our government doesn't own any oil companies if you can prove me wrong then give me facts there are none
ANTIWAR: "If the Red army wouldn't have crunch down the Japanese in the north east China..."(after call us the only nation to use the bomb {true as it may be} dropping the bomb on Japan)
ME: It is often said that this was why we dropped the bomb, but ether way an Invasion of Main land Japan would of cost millions of lives and those bombs saved those lives. Even after we dropped them the Jap army wanted to fight it was only after intervention of the emperor the war ended I do not think that intervention would of come had it not been for the bomb
ANTIWAR: "If Germany didn't try to conquest Russia, you would've had your butt kicked hard from the Nazis in Normandy.
That is because over 70% of the Germans deployed in Russia frozen to death on their way to Moscow"
ME: Yes Thank God Hitler was stupid but although it would have prolonged the war there was no doubt We would have prevailed It was Dec 7th that truly Marked the end of the axis powers.
ANTIWAR: "Romsfeld said already that after the war, a temporary US led government would be in charged of any operation to rebuild Iraq and openly denied any UN intervention.
Do you really think that a bunch of generals will be up to this task?"
ME: Yes... It worked very well in Japan
ANTIWAR: "It is a country (Iraq) that cannot defend itself (no navy, no air force) and 12 years of sanctions made this country very weak."
ME: We could take anyone of those countries in the middle east I think Saudi Ariba would not put up much of a fight... And frankly I am insulted that you think so little of our great nation as to make the above statement
ANTIWAR: "As I said before...everything is documented and no one here is talking out of his (BAD WORD REMOVED) (apart from people like you!)"
ME: When you read left wing propaganda then you can find documentation for all your left wing garbage B.S. You guys (Lefties) like to claim to be open-minded but then you look only at one side and say it is truth. If someone present another views you call them uninformed I can't count the time I've seen the word "ignorance" on this board. If you dismiss all other views as  "ignorance" then that by definition is close-minded.
Lastly in all that long tirade you never once offered a solution to ridding the Iraqi people from the tyrant ruling by murder and fear... Give me one good alternative and I'll join a antiwar protest this weekend.

March 2,2003 Well I know it has been a very long time since I updated my E-George Update but I guess that is just how I am sometimes... errrrr I mean all the time. Anyway on with the update. Yesterday and for the past two months I have making a trip to join in a group called Operation Support Our Troops OSOT. We have had many rallies all over the western half of the State to show we are behind Our young men and woman who are answering the call to duty. The first rally I went to we had about 100 people show up and the response from passers by was outstanding. The last two weeks however we have seen as many as 3,000+. More groups are joining the effort as on Friday I join a group of over 150 who had set up a counter demonstration a few blocks from a no war protest. We had flags and banners showing support, they had no war signs. We heard lots of horns, they heard a few, So there (sticks out tongue).  Before that I joined the Whatcom county republican party rally in Oak Harbor WA.  Ok now on to the fun stuff, after yesterdays rally I had heard there were no war protest over the highway bridges (I-5) all the way up to the border. Thinking I could make a difference I thought I would just set up my flag and sign near one of those. They must of already ended because I didn't see any, but while I was at the border  why not just head on to Vancouver and have some fun.  Which I did. While there I picked up one of those local music scene  newspapers (Discorder) and looked to see what was happening. I went to see a young lady named Sarah Wheeler play at a restaurant called The Main The service was bad but the music was good.  I asked if I could add her to my special links page, however she said her web site sarahwheeler.com is not ready she'll e-mail me when it is and I will promptly post it .

Sept 2,2002 Well I could not have asked for a better time. I just got back from watching Jewel doing a solo set at this years bumbershoot. Three words "She Was Awesome". I managed to get to the front row by waiting forever :) I was 4th in line not that that mattered much when the gates were opened because it was a mad rush and every man for himself. But I did it. So I only had an hour and 15mins more to wait :)... She did some new stuff so I had to yell if she was doing a new CD and she said she was getting ready to. Well hope it happens real soon :) Other great things that I Did, I meet Emm Gryner She was signing CDs after her show, just a brief encounter but well worth the time. I saw Jonatha Brooke and she also was awesome. pictures can be found at Totalobscurity.com I lost my Glasses in the mosh pit for Everclear. They were Battle Damaged so I thru them at the stage, don't know if they made it but it was fun anyway and it was my first official mosh pit action. What fun and boy was it hot. I saw Sonic Youth too but not much there to talk about but that the sound was awful. Lastly I saw Otis Taylor play some good old blues what a weekend. Hope you had just has much fun as I. Happy labor day, now go back to school.

July 6,2002 At Last I have done it. At last I got me a video capture device. and so guess what I spent all last night doing... Give up? ok I'll tell you. I spent all last night recording to my computer then uploading to this site a little something I did a few years ago at the Historic Everett Theatre. I got involved in the Theatre a few years ago while it was still closed and in really bad shape from years of neglect. I was walking by with my camera when I noticed the stage door open, I poked my head inside and asked if I could take a few pictures. Well one thing lead to another and one day they were doing a few midnight showings of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". As part of the pre show entertainment (after the virgin sacrifices) was a fake orgasm contest, well to make a long story short, I won! I was later given a copy of my performance on tape and now at last I can share it here with you. Please enjoy.

June 27,2002

I think I almost got this new web page thing down. I have done a lot to get it going over the last month and looks to me I only have one thing left to work out. Try has I might I cannot get my Sarah Media Page to work. I think I got the thing worked out but being that it includes an 100+ meg file (for all you guys with high bandwidth) I have to wait till I can get to a DSL line before I know for sure. Not much has been going on in my life as is the case most of the time I just never seem to have the money to do more than pay my bills but then that is better than some I guess. I learned some very sad new concerning Tara MacLean. Tara's Sister Died in a car accident. Tara gives a touching tribute to her Little Sister on her web page. I know it's sad but I think it is one of those thing that could really touch your heart. Tara has a magic with words and it shows here
